But the YouTube star narrowly missed out on a place in the top 100 highest-paid athletes, according to reports.
Sportico carried out the research and found that Canelo was the only boxer to rank in the 100 top-paid athletes.
The 30-year-old Mexican superstar, who fought once in 2020 and competed twice since the start of 2021, ranked 12th with an impressive $63m in earnings.
However, Sportico reporter Kurt Badenhausen revealed that both Paul and Joshua missed the cut as the pair respectively made $20m through earnings inside and outside of the ring.
Paul has since taken to social media and warned that he is only “getting warmed up” after his boxing debut in 2020.
UFC superstar Conor McGregor topped the star-studded list of the 100 highest-paid athletes.
The 32-year-old Irishman made a whopping $28m in fight earnings and a staggering $180m through endorsements.
McGregor’s $208m earnings placed him well clear of second-place Lionel Messi, who collected a hefty $126m in overall earnings.
Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo finished third with $120m earnings, while Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ($108.4m) and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James ($101.8m) came fourth and fifth respectively.
